Regarding the Erie County Real Property Tax Services website at: http://www.erie.gov/depts/finance/webprop/index.asp Does anyone know what is included in the database? I looked on the website for the answer without success. I am guessing that a description of the data collection process is published, but I couldn't find it. For example, I couldn't locate information on my parent's home in Williamsville/Clarence; they have lived at the address since 1957 and I know they pay taxes. :-) I couldn't find any addresses in West Seneca. What towns/villages are included in this database? How far back in history does the database go? Does this database supposedly include all property owners in present day Erie County? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Kate Where light snow is predicted today in Denver, but I saw crocus leaves poking out yesterday.
For what it's worth, the "Search all" drop-down menu tells you what towns are included. Also, the homepage tells you that the data is a subset of the NYS Real Property System. So you may have to jump up a governmental level to find out more about the database: http://www.orps.state.ny.us/ --- Kate Johnson <[email protected]> wrote: > Regarding the Erie County Real Property Tax Services website > at: > > http://www.erie.gov/depts/finance/webprop/index.asp > > Does anyone know what is included in the database? City living by its definition is crowded. It is tolerant of other people. It is dependent on a sophisticated population that makes a hundred compromises daily so that they can benefit from the collective energy that a city generates." --Robert N. Davis, Jr. (1955-2007)
I also had a problem with that web site. I looked up my grandparents' house at 222 Pershing Avenue. It was built in 1920, but this web site database only gave owner information back to 1965.
