As one of the guilty parties, I apologize for veering off topic. Those who want to continue reminiscing about food are welcome at the Buffalo History list, where this is indeed on topic. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BuffaloHistory/ Getting back on topic, I just wanted to let people know that you can now do your own copying from microfilm at the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society Library. There are 5 machines: 3 microfilm read-only and 2 reader-printers. It used to be that you gave your film to the staff with a paper slip indicating what you wanted copied. Copies are $.25 each, pay the librarians on the honor system before you leave. No credit or refunds unless the machine malfunctions. Use of the reader-printers is limited to 15 minutes when others are waiting. City living by its definition is crowded. It is tolerant of other people. It is dependent on a sophisticated population that makes a hundred compromises daily so that they can benefit from the collective energy that a city generates." --Robert N. Davis, Jr. (1955-2007)
