    3. I've "rescued" a group of photographs belonging to the NEW and MARY Family of New York. The photographs included in the group are as follows: 1. Mary NEW, taken at the Finley & Sons Studio in Canandaigua, NY, dated 1870, age 18 years 2. Kate, Mary, and Lizzie NEW, taken at the Finley & Sons Studio in Canandaigua, NY, 1860's, girls 5-12 years old 3. "Mother", taken at the Finley & Sons Studio in Canandaigua, NY, dated 1872, woman in her 50's, note "Uncle Jak MARY" written on the back of the photograph as if this is who the photograph was given to as a gift (looks very much like the three NEW girls) 4. Unidentified Male, taken at the Finley & Sons Studio in Canandaigua, NY, 1880's, man in his 20's Based on limited research I was able to locate census records for the family as follows: 1860 census of Canadaigua, NY: Jacob NEW, age 34, a Gardner, born Germany Barbara NEW, age 35, born Germany Susanna NEW, age 16, a Domestic, born NY Oliver P. Shelley ~What a great collection of photos! ~ have you also posted this on a list for the Canandaigua area? also, perhaps you could put one or more of the photos on a website, where anyone googling/searching for the surname(s) would have the opportunity to come upon them.
