    1. Re: [NYERIE] German Street
    2. Russ, This may be it. The 1894 map shows Handel St. and Berlin in that area. Berlin must have become German which became Pershing. The 1866 map shows Handel and Berlin also. the deed references Outer Lot 22 which has been subdivided by one William W. Smith apparently and the referenced property is identified as lot 40 within that. Perhaps the street was initially named German before 1844 when my ancestor bought the property, then when Black Rock joined Buffalo the name could have been changed because there was already a German St. in Buffalo. Seems like a lot of changes for one poor little street. Thanks for the input, Jennifer In a message dated 6/24/2009 3:43:06 P.M. Pershing runs between Northampton and High Street, near the Kensington Expressway.
