Interesting site - I agree, very useful. I've been able to match up some things with the 1866 atlas at Ancestry. However, the German St. I'm seeking ran east/west according to the description in the deed. The property began at some point 255 feet east of Jefferson St. This description was from 1843/1849, so even earlier than any of the online sources I've been able to locate. It is identified as being in Outer lot 22 which seems to be the area bounded by Jefferson, Best, Johnson, and High. this does include German St./Sherman although that seems further than 255 east of Jefferson. I appreciate everyone's help with this. While I haven't yet identified the exact parcel, at least now I have an idea on the approximate area.
