    1. Re: [NYERIE] German Street
    2. Val, Thanks for that. I've been exploring the various directories and such from the link you gave. It's a great link. It appears German Street was changed to Delaware Place about 1853 or 1854. HOWEVER, German Street is listed as running between Delaware and Virginia - and appears to be about where Trinity Place is now. But, that is no where near Jefferson. There is a German Alley, but that never intersects Jefferson either. Here is the property description from the deed I have: the certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the town of Black Rock County of Erie and State of New York being a part of Outer Lot 22 and according to a map of subdivisions of part of said lot 22 made for said (Wm. W. Smith) it is distinguished as Lot 40 and bounded as follows: beginning 255 feet easterly from the east line of Jefferson Street, in the Southerly line of German Street, thence southerly at right angle with German Street 150 feet, thence easterly parallel with German Street 50 feet, thence northerly at right angle with said German Street to said southerly line of German Street, then on said line westerly 50 feet to the place of beginning. I've gone back and forth between various directories and online maps, but not getting much of anywhere. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks, Jennifer In a message dated 6/24/2009 1:12:31 P.M. NY 1850 Jefferson German St Many links came up but I found this one the most interesting: Buffalo History Index http://www.buffaloah.com/h/histindex.html If you go down to Black Rock there are several links. In 1853 there was a link to an Expansion Map which showed Jefferson. Many links but I didn't go through very many. Maybe you will find a clue there. Happy Hunting!
