I am looking for more information about my GG grandfather Jacob Meyer (Mayer, Maier) who was born in Wuerttemberg around 1829 and arrived in NY around 1851. He appears in the 1860 census employed as a locksmith living somewhere in the 5th Ward with his wife Caroline (formerly Daudel) and their three children: Frederick, 5; Caroline, 3; and Charles, 1. My G grandfather John was born later that year. Eventually they moved to 194 Pratt Street where she (widow) and her children appear in the 1870 census. I would like to find a death certificate or anything that can tell me when they arrived in Buffalo, were married or purchased the home at 194 Pratt Street.
