    3. Hi All, In Germany, surname is: PFLEGER (pronounced flay ger) (a "hard" g sound like in get). Variant spellings are many (see subject line for examples). Need help to find the following family in 1. 1850 US Census, in Erie County, or in NYC? 2. 1855 NY State Census. Have tried variant spellings in the online searchable index at ancestry -- with no luck. Thought someone else might have better luck. In 1860, the family is in Wellsville New York (Allegany County, District 27) as: Jacob FLIGER, 34, Farmer, b. Germany Henrietta, 32 b. Germany Julius, 12, m, b. NY Jacob, 10, m, b. NY Henry, 8, m, b. NY Mina, 5, f, b. NY George 5/12, m, b. NY In 1865, Wellsville, Allegany County New York Jacob PFLAGER, 40, b. Germany, Farmer, naturalized Henryetta, 39, wife, b. Germany Julius, 16, b. City of NY Jacob, 14, b. Erie Henry, 11, b. Erie Minnie, 7, b. Erie George, 6, b, Erie Albert, 4, b. Allegany Louis, 2, b. Allegany So, family in 1850 is likely only Jacob (24), Henrietta (22) and son Julius (age 1 - 2), living in NYC or Erie County. In the 1855, it seems they are in Erie County and may be: Jacob (30), Henrietta (29), Julius (6 - 7), Jacob (5), Henry (3), and maybe Mina (Minnie, Wilhelmina) <1. (Death cert for George FLAGER reads: b. 15 Sept 1859 Wellsville NY -- I note that the 1865 gives Erie county as his birth place). Hopefully yours, Debbie in Florida
