Richard, When I was looking for my Ancestors that came from Buffalo New York, I found that Shirley from the RAOGK website was helpful. Here is what her description says: Will do look ups in NYS vital records index for births (1881-1934), marriages (1881-1959) and deaths (1881-1959). Must have approximate year. Not sure if she can help you, but I thought I'd offer the name. She is listed under Erie County, New York. Hope this helps if but a little. Hello Listers, Patrick Thomas Dean died in Winter Haven Florida 16 April 1945. His body was then sent to Buffalo for burial. I am looking for a copy of his obit from a Buffalo newspaper, hopefully showing which cemetery he is interred in. Patrick was Roman Catholic. I could not find a volunteer under RAOGK that listed Buffalo as a research area. I would be happy to do a Toronto obit lookup in return should you need one. Regards, Richard Orr Toronto, Canada

Hi Nora Neither the 1900 or 1910 census have the street address of where Frank and Anna Perry live. We will be passing through Evans on Oct 12th and wanted to make a 1/2 day stuff in Evans to start our search for Frank and Anna Perry. Was there a cemetery which was the public one in the 1910-1925 era? That probably might be a place to start. My husband is from western NY (Niagara CO) and we often drive by Evans on our way to OH to visit his brother. Would going to the town hall to look at vital records also be another place to start? What I'm trying to figure out is the Leech connection to my family. The obit I have came from a now deceased first cousin's husband and she had written on the top "my father's cousin". So far I can't find the connection, just that it's through my Miner/Minor great grandmother. Thanks for your input. My Leech family in western NY did not continue as Martha J Leech's line had females. Many Leech families trace back to Lawrence Leach in Mass, as did this Leech line. -----Original Message----- From: nyerie-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nyerie-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of amzgrace Sent: Monday, September 28, 2009 4:30 PM To: nyerie@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NYERIE] Locations of vital records for Evans,NY circa 1900-1930 Hi Betsy - I'm interested in your Leech connection. You might get lucky and find their death notices or some other clue in the free newspaper database at www.fultonhistory.com. I just took a quick look and there are a lot of Frank Perrys. some of the Buffalo and Niagara Falls newspapers for that time period are on this site, so you will have to search. Once you find the year or date of death the Onondaga County Public Library in Syracuse will do a free lookup in the microfiche index to help you find the vital records certificate number. with that information you can apply to Albany or the town clerk where they died to obtain a copy of the actual death certificate. I wrote about this on my Blog several times at www.unyg.com/blog do a search for NYS vital records.
