    3. I just finished reading your latest post in which you answered some of my thoughts. I did find myself in a similar situation and did exactly what you said in your last line. I gave a copy to only those who asked for it but if I didn't want them to see certain info, I made sure it wasn't included in their copy. So far, it worked. Backing off is a good choice. 3. How many in your family know about Findagrave and do they actually use it? I, also, contribute to Findagrave but I don't think anybody in my family or my husband's family know that it exists. However, I am a private type of person and do things without others knowing about it. If it wasn't for genealogy, I wouldn't know it exists. I agree with you that they all should be included in the memorial. From what you wrote, it sounds like you aren't sure who knows and who doesn't. My opinion: put it the way you feel it should be........that way you'll find out who knows about the situation and who uses Findagrave. If someone comes along with questions, tell them the truth and explain that you didn't know who knew about the situation and who didn't. After all, if they have the same blood running through their veins, I feel they should know (remember....my opinion). My biggest concern in these situations is 'in-breeding' when no one is around to explain. Let's face it, it's like planning a wedding........you can't please everybody but you do your best. Ruth

    3. It is not necessarily true that if they don't know about FAG that they won't find the memorial. Try googling a few names of people you have memorialized on FAG. I typed in my grandfather's name on Google.  First I just used given and surname.  over 2900 hits, but something I had done for him on my blog showed up on the second page of hits. then, I tried a search for him and included his middle name.  now there are 90 hits and the FAG memorial I built for him is on the very first page of hits. so, if someone is out there snooping around and doing google searches, they may find FAG even if they have NO idea what it is. Just another point of view for you to consider. As far as the first question.  I don't have an answer, I personally do not like family secrets, because they usually come out (like you found out, etc.) and they usually are painful.  Funny thing, when found out, they often have a positive outcome after the initial screaming and hooping is over.  Truth can be "freeing"  (horrible choice of words, but, I think you get the drift.) Good luck with your final decision.  Carol Aging With Attitude Memory Is More Indelible Than Ink... 1. [NYERIE] sensitive question for Findagrave
    2. LAURIE
    3. Nelson and Donna,   thank you very much for your 2 cents! I appreciate it. I do want to make sure I am thinking this out properly so to get other opinions is quite helpful.   Nelson, the others that DO know abt the 2nd family are quite certain they want it kept a secret from our 1st family. They didn't even want them included on the family tree. They are fellow family researchers and none of us were around when the other family came along. The elders in the 1st family that knew all of the deceased are not computer people or deceased themselves.   BUT, the most recent death of a child of the 2nd family is on findagrave there is someone posting flowers from that family to other members of the 2nd family. .So there is a newer generation of people that may see the memorial and be stunned. One person posted many of the graves of that family in Sept. 2009.   I would like them to find the "father" of the 2 families and I posted him on findagrave awhile back but only with his original family (which is all we knew at the time.)He is my grt uncle.   It is a conundrum...perfect word,Nelson.   I have included the 2nd family on the family tree, as far as I am concerned they are family and belong there.BUT I did save a copy of the tree first and any of our relatives (from the 1st family) that want a copy get that one!   I guess I will back off.     Thank you guys!   Laurie     Researching: Ancestor Activist- Amico,Asciutto,Arico,Galbo,Giambrone,Mistretta,Frisa, Ortalano,Lazarra,Piacenti Van Ausdale,(Van Oesdale,Vanosdale,Van Arsdale, Van Arsdalen)Hendrickson Hartman,Mikuszewski,Szulc.

    3. Laurie, That is a real conundrum. Having a great revelation posted on line could really cause a stir among at least some of the relatives of both families. Since you said there are a few who do know, can you ask those members if they have confided in anyone else? You may find there are more aware of this than you thought. I would get their opinions on listing all family members. Another thought is that many of those who do not know about this may never see the web site, and therefore not be affected at all. Just a few thoughts. Good luck on your decision making. 3. Hi!   I know many of you use Findagrave. I have been adding memorials for 2 years now thanks to a fellow lister! (you know who you are)   I have a Uncle who was a career military man. Because of his travels, we discovered he had another family in another town. I know that for warly 1900's this is quite comon. ( i suspect there are more) but we have documentation of the 2 families.   For me, I feel BOTH families should be included in his findagrave memorial as "survived by". I have no problem accepting the 2nd family. Only 2 other people in our family know abt the other family. We are familiar with the 1st family. There was no divorce of the 1st wife.   One of the children of the 2nd family just passed away last week.   Since the other family may not know abt us and most of our family does not know abt them....how can I tastefully include ALL family survivors in the findagrave memorial?   Any ideas? I am stumped.   laurieg       Researching: Ancestor Activist- Amico,Asciutto,Arico,Galbo,Giambrone,Mistretta,Frisa, Ortalano,Lazarra,Piacenti Van Ausdale,(Van Oesdale,Vanosdale,Van Arsdale, Van Arsdalen)Hendrickson Hartman,Mikuszewski,Szulc.

    2. Here you go from the Binghamton Press, March 4, 1952 : AN EX-MARINE LANDS-Holdup of Settler's department store in Buffalo was foiled yesterday when an ex- Marine, Gail Zenner, extreme right, grabbed the gunman- suspect, Arthur S. Noworyta, by the throat, and disarmed him. The others, left to right, are: Sattler's doorman, John Burke, holding gun; John Barker, store detective, and Phil Saturen, a buyer. This picture, made an instant after capture, was made by Ferdinand Kasbrzak, a commercial photographer. Joe Endicott, NY In a message dated 12/16/2009 10:55:51 A.M. 2. Hello Sara, I could always ask if they can be , i would not think they would mind ., but i will wait til they get settled in over at the new location first . The Trinity section in Concordia Cemetery is a different church. If i remember correctly. That section belongs to Trinity Lutheran that was on Hickory Street and they had moved away years ago . But we do have members buried in St Stephens/St Peters/Trinity Lutheran sections but not that many , From going thru church records a lot of Trinity/Gold St members are buried in St Matthews on Clinton St & Buffalo Cemetery . When i do ask ,i know they will ask for details about filming the records , so if anyone has information on doing this , just let know . Maybe the Council at St Stephens/Bethlehem Church may have details since we filmed their records years back. Paul In a message dated 12/16/2009 12:23:39 A.M. 2. Hello Suzy, Well Elaine will stay on until all the paper work is done , The records will all be transferred to St Stephens . so everyone should have access to them . Do to the timing being around the holidays i have not been unable to get a flight at a good price to be at the final service so i will miss it . I really didn't think they would have the final service soon . but iam still trying to find a flight . We have heard that S.S. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox on Ideal Street is also closing after the first of the year also . .. Paul In a message dated 12/15/2009 7:22:35 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, sbrum64380@aol.com writes: Oh Paul, what a shock! I have not finished researching those records. What will happen to the secretary? She was so nice, and helpful with my research when I was in Buffalo. Will you be going to Buffalo to be at the last service?
