Hi, I'm sure you all know who I mean - I had made myself a link but it doesn't work. I think maybe it's Jan. Obit Lady: please contact me :) Sharon
I am looking for a marriage record for a Dorothy Lowe, born Buffalo, NY, April 1898, daughter of Edwin and Victoria Lowe. She is still single in the 1920 census, living with her mother. I don't know who, when or if she married and cannot find her in the 1930 census as Dorothy Lowe. I am hoping to find out what might have happened to her mother through her marriage record or obit. Thanks for any help. Rich Lowe
yes but the site I answered with has the same site you gave as the 2nd last site on the index. Does that make sense? In other words, the address I have originally responded with as correcting the erroneous one has your site as one of the options. It may be that the person reporting that my aunt (who died after 1950) was buried in Delaware Cemetery, Buffalo, was using an old name which as we know often gets carried on and on in some cases in spite of what the sign says. For anyone interested in Buffalo cemeteries the following is an informative site. www.buffalonian,com/history/industry/cemetaries It lists Delaware and North Street Burial Ground as started on 1830 on five acres of land on the sw corner of Delaware and North St.. The bodies were removed to Forest Lawn in 1865.
It was called Delaware Ave. Cemetery and before that Union Cemetery. It was on the north-west corner of Delaware and Hertel Ave. There was also a cemetery on the north-east corner with no name.
