    3. Searching for FIDELIA (CAROLINE) CLOUGH, born 1818 in either Charlotte, Vt. or Erie Co., N.Y....... married RICHARD E. LOOMIS in 1837 in Vt. or Buffalo, N.Y..... At least two of their children were born in Buffalo -- HOMER E. LOOMIS born 1839-1841.....and LEONORA LUCINDA LOOMIS BRN 1842-1844........ FIDELIA supposedly died in 1844 in Wisconsin but it may very well have been in Buffalo....... I cannot tell you how many long years I have been searching for this elusive lady.......she was at least half Native American, if not full--depending where her surname came from--as it does not seem to belong to any of the New England Clough lines......... Have a lot of conflicting information on dates, places, etc........very frustrating....... I have the LOOMIS line back to the beginning of time-----but the wives all came from Mars I guess........... any help greatly appreciated....

    3. Hi Ed Toy, Do your BUTLERS include John, born c. 1853, married to Catherine, aka Kate, REGAN, born c.1856, daughter of James & Bridget REGAN? If so, I would like very much to learn more about these families. Catherine's sister, Theresa REGAN married John J KINNEY, born May 1849, son of John KINNEY & Julia KILLEAN. Julia's brother John KILLEAN was my great grandfather. One of my father's cousins, Tom KEATING, born 1896, in Grand Rapids, MI, in about 1972, worked out a sort of Pedigree/Descendant chart with 6 or 7 pages of memories & anecdotes to explain it. He said the BUTLERS had James, born c.1876, Olive, & John who was a priest living at Canisius College. Tom thought Kate REGAN'S brother was the engineer on the first Twentieth Century Limited. I have no other documentation for any of this but would love to know more. I also have a RIEDEL married to Ellen L WEGNER 1924-1971, about whom I need more information, but they were in the Saginaw, MI area. >From: "Toy" <Tinker45@adelphia.net> >Reply-To: NYERIE-L@rootsweb.com >To: NYERIE-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [NYERIE] Toy,Glascott,Fitzhenry,Cawthard,Leverentz,Riedel >Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2005 22:34:59 -0500 > >Hi all looking for following surnames > >Toy-Buffalo-1855 to present >Glascott-Buffalo-1870 to present >Fitzhenry-Buffalo-1850 to present >Sullivan-Scranton Pa>Buffalo-1850 to 1926 >Butler-Scranton Pa>Buffalo-1850 to present >Cawthard-Bertie Ontario>Buffalo-1820 to present >Leverentz-Buffalo & West Seneca 1880's to present >Boeck-Lockport>Buffalo & West Seneca 1850 to present >Lapp-Lancaster Pa.>Clarence & Amherst 1800 to present >also interested in the following >surnames-Dudley,Rykert,Martin,Rhodes,Stedwell, Brown, Riedel,Pletscher, >World,Smith,Krettner, > >Ed Toy >---------------------------------------------------- >This mailbox protected from unsolicited email by Spam X-terminator >from StompSoft http://www.stompsoft.com > > >==== NYERIE Mailing List ==== >To contact the List Administrator: Dick Rose <dtrose@cox.net> >See the Archived Messages at: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ > >============================== >Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the >areas they lived. 2. Jillaine Smith
    3. Nelson, Thanks for the response. By any chance would you know if this Rev. Robert DICK was of Scottish or German origin? The DICK line I'm researching is of the former (but I have seen German-born DICKs, too). If Robert was of German descent, that would rule him out; that said, the name Robert is far more UK-ish than Germanic... I no longer have a census subscription, so I can't poke around the census any more. -- Jillaine At 08:41 PM 1/11/2005, Nelson Metke wrote: >I have information on Rev Robert Dick, who in 1856 patented a label machine >named the DICK MAILER. >There is no genealogical info but if you are related to him, what I do >have would be of interest. >His manse was located at 137 West Tupper andf he leased rights to use his >machines >for labeling newspapers. >The business stayed in the DICK family for quite a few years, until about >1945. >I purchased the business about 1973. >If you want more info, my email is metkenw@hotmail.com > > > >>From: Jillaine Smith <jillainedc@yahoo.com> >>Reply-To: NYERIE-L@rootsweb.com >>To: NYERIE-L@rootsweb.com >>Subject: [NYERIE] James DICK m. 3. I have information on Rev Robert Dick, who in 1856 patented a label machine named the DICK MAILER. There is no genealogical info but if you are related to him, what I do have would be of interest. His manse was located at 137 West Tupper andf he leased rights to use his machines for labeling newspapers. The business stayed in the DICK family for quite a few years, until about 1945. I purchased the business about 1973.
