I am looking for any information about the whereabouts of Edward P. Mills and his wife Mary Julitta Mills, who were last listed in the Buffalo city directories in 1899. Mary Julitta was born in 1849, and married Edward Mills in 1885. Any help would be appreciated. Barbara Lamb

Is the 1905 census also on Anc.com or CD's (I suppose there is the federal census ending in 0's like 1910, 1920 etc which is on these CD's) & county 1905 would be another type (county) census? I am looing for Edward Jugo (Hugo) HANSON born 1880 in Sweden (so 25 yrs old) living in Buffalo (or he could be in Penn?) in 1905. Sincere thanks to any answers to my questions Probably would have to order in thru LDS Fam Hist Centre? Sincerely GAIL in Ontario -- No virus found in this outgoing message. What would be Easter traditions for Germans in America, especially in Erie County? Zona When I was a kid, my German grandparents always decorated eggs in one color--bright yellow brown. We collected onion skins (we only had the brown ones, don't know what color would result from the red ones) and put them in a big kettle with enough water to cover however many eggs were added. Before putting the eggs in the warm onionskin water, we decorated them with designs in white crayon or yellow crayon. Then simmer long enough to hard boil the eggs (boiling a bit longer might get a darker color, but the color really depends on how many onion skins you put in the water). Is anyone on the list researching the LANG surname? I am looking for a Catharina Lang who married Anthony/Antoine Halter about 1849. He came with his family to Lancaster, NY in 1847 at the age of 22. There were 4 children born between 1850 and 1854, 3 died by 1855--records from St Marys Lancaster. There was one child, Elizabeth for whom there was no death record, born in 1852. I have never been able to find him on a census anywhere, but have records of his parents, and four siblings. While surfing Jo Daviess Co in western IL I found a record of a marriage between Anthony Halter and Mary Gross in 1862. I have a note from a cousin from many years ago that my great grandfather went to Galena, IL where a brother lived, and then to the UP of MI. I would like to find a record of Catherines' death in Erie Co. Thanks for any help. Grace

I am part of a group effort in Cleveland, Ohio, to accomplish something similar [an expanded index] with the 1930 Cuyahoga County, Ohio, census. That project is approaching four [3.7 actually] times as large as doing the 1892 Erie as Cuyahoga County had an estimated population of 1.2 million people in 1930. After 3 years, we are only just approaching the halfway mark and this is a cooperative group effort amongst local [Cleveland area] genealogy groups. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohcuyah2/census/1930cen/ED_list.html [in case you want to take a look - I am the online coordinator, putting the end results online] I would love to see the 1892 Erie County census available online and certainly with the minimal information included in that census it may as well be a transcript as any kind of index but it would take a number of people working together for a LENGTHY period of time and is hampered by the fact that these are on LDS films and have limited availability/access for a project like this. >This census was organized by wards and election districts. Is there anyway to get this correlation of address to ward/district available to those of us without access to the Maple Road FHC? If it is something printed, I would be willing to OCR, proof it and make it available online if I can be sent a copy and if permissions can be obtained to do so. >A few of the census takers were especially helpful.
