(I've no idea if the men in the quartet at that time were the original members of the group.) Leslie
Does anyone remember the Buffalo Bills Barbershop Quartet? The original quartet began in Buffalo in 1947. I was wondering who the original four men's names were who actually came from Buffalo. I only know of two of them who came from Buffalo, those being Vern REED and Al SHEA. The record I have is a 33 LSP-2988 for Stereo. "Remembering Time".
Hi Jillaine My g'grandparents lived at 438 Emslie which was the street next (maybe north) of Adams. I found him on the 1900 census under Ward 9, Ed 65, Supervisors District 17. Do you need a lookup? I would be glad to do a look up on Ancestry's Census for you. Jean Jillaine Smith wrote: > I would like to review who was living on Adams Street during the 1900 > census. I would like to review who was living on Adams Street during the 1900 census. In particular, I am interested in the 500 block. Could anyone help me figure out which ward and e.d. this would be? Perhaps you have an ancestor who was still on the block (or nearby) as late as 1900. I want to see who ended up at my ancestors' houses after they left/died. Many thanks. -- Jillaine http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jillaine
Is there an accessible INDEX to death certificates, as recorded by Buffalo State Hospital? Would 1906 be a year covered by them? I have not found a gravestone, obituary, or coventional death certificate for a great, great-grandmother, whose only clue is her final 1906 enumeration in a Buffalo street directory. Thank you.

Hi! I'm researching the BOERNER descendants of JOHANN ADAM BOERNER both his sons GERHARD and THOMAS were bakers in Buffalo. At the present time, I'm trying to find GERHARD and his son LOUIS in the 1920 Census. I have them both living with the WEISS family in the 1930 Census. GERHARD was 82 and LOUIS was 53 at that time. Where were they in 1920? Does anybody know? I would appreciate any help! Thank you, Susi Boerner Slater bslaters@sssnet.com

Deaths that took place in Buffalo State Hospital are held at Buffalo City Hall-Vital Statistics. You need to specify Buffalo State Hospital as they are kept seperately. This is where I got my certificate for my g-grandmother. Hope this helps. Angela

Does anyone have any further inf on these Hortons? Marilyn Carson Bess Hector is located in Schuyler County
Jan, Workman Circle Cemetery is located on Pine Hill Heritage Rd, in the Town of Cheektowaga. I may be wrong, but I believe it that Workman's Circle is a Jewish Cemetery. The Segsbury Rd. location is the address of the caretaker or the person that manages the cemetery records. Many of the cemetery address's are misleading. > <I have been looking for the burial place of my great grand parents, Henry > and Mary Texter. There is also a cemetery next to Saints Peter and Paul Church on Main Street in Williamsville. I believe that it is the original Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery. Jann, If the Texters were Catholic, they might be buried in the Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, which is on Union Road in Williamsville, a few blocks south of the church with the same name. I don't know of any online listing for this cemetery. I walked through it during a visit to the area last summer and made notes from a few of the grave markers, and sorry, I didn't note anyone named Texter, but I wasn't looking for that name. I was hoping to find some of my HOCK relatives, who lived in Amherst from about 1830-1860. Unfortunately, I didn't find them either. --- Brian J.
