Fay Doseckle female It could be spelled a few different ways. I do not know anything else about her. She was in a newspaper article for visiting Merriott, Ontario in Dec 25, 1911-Jan 1912. Her mother passed away on Dec 25, 1911 in Merriott. I am hoping she lived in Buffalo. If newspapers and cemeteries don't work, try funeral homes. They could have been cremated. Ann
There is only one *active* cemetery left in the city Buffalo--Forest Lawn. There are one or two inactive ones connected to churches. There were many in the 19th century and as the city grew, they were closed, built upon, and the remains removed to Forest Lawn. Kale: There is a number of cemeteries in Erie County. Only one major one inside the city limits. Here is a link to help you get started. http://www.buffaloresearch.com/roots.html Some additional links: http://www.tonawanda.ny.us/history/cemeteries.htm http://members.tripod.com/~wnyroots/ As to newspapers, below is the link to the New York State Library State Newspaper Project. I order newspaper microfilms from both Canada (Ontario National Library) and New York to view here in Texas, so your local library could help you obtain them. http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/index.html The major newspapers in Buffalo during that time period were the Courier Express and the Buffalo Evening News. If they lived in one of Buffalo's suburbs the local paper would more likely have a better obituary. Do you have an address for them? Good Morning, List: I hope I will not have too difficult a question to answer: How many cemeteries are there in Buffalo NY? I have been trying to locate two stones (a husband and wife) but with no luck. I have their names and death dates but do not know the name of the cemetery; or if they were buried in the same cemetery (I am hoping that they were). I tried looking for the obits but didn't know what newspaper(s) to look for. Dr. Ralph Waldo ATKINSON, DDS (Dentist) b.27 JUN 1911 Buffalo, Erie, NY d.03 AUG 1988 Buffalo, Erie, NY m.
