    1. Petition for Naturalization Records
    2. Nancy Hanes
    3. An ancestor, Frederick Hanes, emigrated from Germany sometime between May 1846 (when he applied) and 1848 when he was naturalized. I have a copy of his naturalization paper dated November 1, 1848 from the Circuit court in Erie County. How do I go about obtaining his petition for naturalization? I really just want to find what ship he came over on from Germany. He is listed in the Wuerttemberg Emigration Index. Nancy Hanes __________________________________ Discover Yahoo! 2. What year was Jacob KLEINDIENST born in? Was Jacob born in Germany or in NYS, which would be helpful in my search. What approximate years were they in Rochester? I have found that the surname has a variant spelling. 3. Hi Zona, I'm sure you are inundated with questions but just in case you can help (and I may have asked this before) I am trying to find information on the family of KLEINDIENST. They were a Rochester, Monroe, family with German origins but they had connections with Buffalo. Jacob KLEINDIENST had married a Magdalena ROHR(ER) around 1848 and later remarried to a Margaretha SEIS possibly in the 1860s. I'm trying to find background to the two wives and there seems to be link between the family and Buffalo - this may be the ROHR(ER) or SEIS family. Jacob died in Buffalo in 1889 as did one of his children Louisa in 1877. Any information would be interesting to me. I would like to point out that I am not related to these families but have become interested in the exploits of Henry KLEINDINEST, Coroner of Rochester. (My personal interest in the USA is GUNTHER, but my information is so vague as to make it vertually impossible to track this family down.) Best wishes, Charles

They found so many ways to mutate those German names and it gets worse the farther back you go. I'll poke around a little more though. Kathi

    1. a marriage looking for
    2. Hello all, been a while since I have posted, If it was not for the hurricane Ivan, in Sept, and all the heavy rains in march, and now needing a new roof cause of hail, and then the tropical depression last week, sometimes I tell my hubby I want to move home, back to buffalo. LOL ok hope all are doing well. This is what im looking for: After all these years I found the marriage date of my g randparents Ellen Calvert and Hobson Hadler, married April 9, 1928 in Columbus , Ohio. Now the story goes they had married a year before, and it was kept secret, cause of my granny's mom and family didn't like my grandfather, cause his family owned a bar/restaurant in Snyder somewhere, Finally my great grandmother gave them her blessing to marry a year later, which was in Columbus, Ohio, where she lived. How can i find out if they were married in Buffalo between say 1926 and 1928..? Can anyone help me. Thank you so much Debbie Pace, Florida

    1. Free offer to send a census today only
    2. David Cornell
    3. Zona, I just saw your generous offer today. I hope that I am not too late. I need an 1860 or 1870 census record for Ludwig (or Louis) WESTENFELDER and his wife Caroline. They were both born in Baden, Germany in 1827 and 1829, respectively. They were living in Erie County starting 1857, first in Orchard Park, then in Buffalo. They were probably in Buffalo by 1860. I am trying to track down some of their children who apparently died before 1880. I have census records for this family from 1880 through 1930. Thanks again, David Cornell

    2. Give some birth years; mentions significant dates. Did you find them on a census? Death info is relevant; if you have any info on any deaths let us know. Death dates are important. Begin with those and search back from there. Zona
