List: Marvin E. Epps died at Buffalo 28 September 2002. His death notice indicates that his funeral was conducted at the above named Church. His daughters Cassandra and Rosa are listed as residents of Buffalo at the time of death. Does anyone know, am I speaking of an African-American family? Bob Epp, in VA
For what it is worth, I am slightly familiar with one person named Epps in Buffalo and she is white. Unfortunately, if you Google on "White Rock Baptist Church," you find more than one by that name in the US. --- Robert Epp <[email protected]> wrote: > List: > > Marvin E. Hi, gang, Something I stumbled on while looking up other things, a Google Book of cases handled by the 8th circuit court in 1841, which appears to have been based in Rochester, but there are Buffalo cases here, too. http://books.google.com/books?id=PqIUAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA45&dq=%22Holland+Land+COmpany%22&lr=&as_brr=3#PPP5,M1 Scroll down to the lower right to search within the book for a family or place name. Chancery courts evolved into something else (help me out here if you're an attorney) but they often handled divorces. *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:**:-.,_,.-* Cynthia Van Ness, MLS, bettybarcode AT yahoo DOT com http://www.BuffaloResearch.com "Everyone claims to want a city, but no one here wants city living. Ellen Goodman's wonderful story about the darker side of our family histories made me want to share with you all a story I've drafted about my husband's ancestors who were involved in quite a controversy back during the Revolutionary War in western Massachusetts. It's on the long side (25 pages)-- because it also attempts to document what happened to all the protagonists-- but I hope you all will enjoy it. While googling "something", I came upon an article written by a volunteer fireman about the Big Tree/Hamburg area South of Buffalo. It is part of a site called classicbuffalo.com. Cynthia may have it on her web site so forgive if I'm repeating a site that already has been acknowledged but I had to make a reference to this particular writing. What a wonderful article about that area. He goes on about the first settlers with names and where they settled. He tells about how the roads were developed, stage coach travel, hotel, who married who, post offices, fashion clothing of the men and the women and much more. I sat with my eyes glued on this article. I'm from the area and to read all about the familiar names of people and places had me in awe. Even if you're not from the area, it's great reading to learn about first settlers. http://www.classicbuffalo.com/HistoryBigTree.htm

Hi, LDS has filed the records for the cemetary. You can see the United German and French Roman Catholic Cemetery register, 1859-1921 on LDS film number 1411807.
