I have a William Barber that marries Abigail Dean, in The Dutch Reformed Curch, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co, NY, 1790ish. The record of their marriage I have, but would like to dig deeper to find their parents. My Wm Barber & family move to Carlisle, Schoharie Co about 1820 & find some info there. I have no luck in Dutchess Co or Poughkeepsie before their wedding, attempting to locate their parentage. Does anyone have any suggestions for researching in Poughkeepsie, 1790ish & before?
