The History of Steuben County merely lists Martin as from Ruppertsberg in the Rheinpfalz -- which is where Anton and his father Gottfried are from. My Elizabeth Ramstetter was known by oral tradition to have been trained as a millnier in Hammondsport. The sole millnier in Hammondsport during this time is the sister of the farmer growing grapes to the Argus'. So there is no clear connection. I have tried to raise Margaret Schaad, who identified Apollonia for me about five years ago; she had the information on Phillip. No luck yet.
