Hi Doris, Have you tried the link below before? It seems to have the information you placed here for me. Perhaps you already know of it. I personally have not been on the Long Island site in some time. It is a wonderful site. My great great grandfather Anthony/Antony "Toto" Golden lived in the Roslyn > Hempstead > Port Washington area after coming to the US in the very early 1800's from Ireland. One of his sons, Thomas Tabor Golden (my great grandfather) moved to Hyde Park, NY and married a Schryver...which started what I know of my mothers family. I do know there are Montross and Worden's in the mix somewhere, but exactly where I can not tell you (through the Roger's and Hall connections). One of Samuel's wives...Isabell Quick is also related through marriage to my mom's family/her first husbands family of Roosa's. The late Mrs. ? Worden that did alot of research on the Worden's and many families of Dutchess Co. may have written of your Renselar Case. I do believe alot of her work is with the NY Genealogy Society in New York City. I think I even bought one of her cd's before she past away. (Though I did find some of it to be incorrect as far as my family is concerned.) You may also try contacting a Dr. David Roberts...he is on the Brooklyn/New York/Long Island rootsweb mailing lists. He posted Long Island newspaper articles where I found the death annoucment of my great great grandmother, Eliza (Curtin?) Golden's death at Hudson River State in 1891. He is very knowledgeable. http://www.longislandgenealogy.com/southard/fam00012.htm One day you and I will find our family connection...I know there is one there. Feel free to contact me if you want to treat ancestors...I am sure you have more knowledge than I. With 13 children in my mom's immediate family I have trouble connecting the dots. Good luck, Ro Doriswheeler <doriswheeler@bellsouth.net> wrote: Dear Ro, Very interesting! Renselaer Case was a merchant, I find in Smith's History after reading your reply. Hi Ro, I'm related to both Schryver (a 1710 Palatine family) and Roosa from Holland. The info on the Long Island site is what I submitted some time ago on the Southard family. In the last few years, I've been delving deeply into DNA testing for genealogy and finding lots of good stuff, some of which may change the Southard origins quite dramatically. The Wordens are still on track, though, with the traditional Worden genealogy. I am curious, though, about your reference to the lady who died. Do you mean the Worden who compiled all the local records and did such a great job of it? I did have a conversation with her sometime ago and we could never find a link to her Worden family. She had not done a great deal of research on that line (isn't that strange?!) but was pretty convinced they were not related. Her Wordens may have immigrated more recently than Peter I and Peter II who came in 1637/8. I gather she was more interested in history than genealogy. My website is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dorisw. I'll bet we'll find lots of relatives in common. All the families we are talking about are in my mother's line. Her name was Isabel Coon Muller, so you can trace my lineage from her. Have a Merry Christmas and let me know if you find any ties between us!
