Weed who died 1/1/1882 in New Hyde Park. I was told there are no death certificates for that date and my only hope is to find an obituary so that I can see who is mentioned. Joseph was quite a character, with a total of 3 families and 2 marriages that we can confirm. He had 12 known children, 10 with his first wife and one each with the subsequent wives(?). I know that his son George W., from his second marriage, paid for his funeral service because it was noted in a letter but we could never find out what cemetery he was buried in and with whom he was living at the time of his death. Is it just me or does Dutchess County lack these types of resources? I live in NYC so I can drive to retrieve information but I can't find any one place listed? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Kathy p.s. His first wife was names Elizabeth Smith or Sheffield (m. 1828) and his second wife was Margaret Bird. That marriage took place in Cuyahoga County, Ohio in 1851. You do realize that New Hyde Park is on Long Island and not in Dutchess County? Hyde Park is in Dutchess County.
