Author: runair88 Surnames: Atherton Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.dutchess/9643/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for info on Joel Atherton,born Dutchess county,1746.I did some checking of the old Amenia tax rolls and I found a few Athertons listed there.Joel was born in "the oblong" of the county.So that narrowed it down.Aaron Atherton may have been related to Joel as was Cornelius,James and Jonathon Atherton.They were all on the Amenia tax rolls from 1753 to 1777.Aaron Atherton was listed located at the Crum Elbow.Would like to know what town Joel was born in and who his parents were.He moved to New Jersey during the Rev.
