This book refers to the twin-brother of Jacob Aertsen Van Wagenen who is the subject of Book One. Gerrit and his suceeding generations resided on the Kipsbergen Patent at Rhinecliff in the Town of Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, NY. Many of his descendants removed to the State of Michigan where they changed the spelling of their name to VAN WAGONER and VAN WAGNER.
