Census records indicate that in 1840 the family lived in Poughkeepsie and in 1850 the family lived in Fishkill Township. By the time of the 1860 census John, Mary Elizabeth, and most (but not all) of their children had moved to Newfane Township, Niagara County, NY. John and Mary Elizabeth were great-great grandparents to me. I'd like to learn about John's ancestors and his ancestry line back to Scotland. I'd also like to learn about Mary Elizabeth's ancestors.
