I am really interested in John Monfort's descendants if I can find them. I think they might provide clues for my grandmother and her mother. It's fun you have the Traver name in your life that way. The Travers are a big family with lots of descendants. I think many of them are still in Dutchess Co. and I think they're all related. My grandmother's family came apart and I have been trying to put the pieces back together. She lost custody of 6 children in CT in the late 1800s, looks like, and then had a big rift with her family of origin. She came all the way west and left everybody there behind. Cut them all out of her life, including her first family of children. We never knew any of them. I found the descendants of my grandmother's brother. They have a photo of relatives who visited them in Norwalk CT after WWII. Those relatives came from Poughkeepsie but their names are lost now. John and Eleanor Traver Monfort had a close relationship to my ggran! dmother. She got married at their house and is buried in their plot at Poughkeepsie Rural. I hope it's maybe that part of the family that stayed connected. I would like to find out what really happened, also who those people in the picture are.
