Charlotte, I'm looking for a woman named Elizabeth Palmer or Elizabeth Douglas who married Jacob Hoag in Macedon, Wayne Co, NY. on Dec 1. 1785. Both Jacob and Elizabeth (Aug 19, 1760-Sept 6, 1818) were supposedly b. in Dutchess Co. She is one of my major brick walls. I'll be sending you a check for $2.50. thanks, Leslie Hope -----Original Message----- From: nydutche-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nydutche-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of C J Sheldon Sent: Monday, January 21, 2008 1:10 PM To: nydutche@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYDUTCHE] About PALMERS in Duchess Co.,NY Although I have VERY few PALMERS--I just ran across some eight pages copied from Ye Historie of Ye Town of Greenwich--CT.by MEAD for another reason . This book is widely available but in these 8 pages- someone who obviously had, or had researched , PALMERS had written in ink copious notes in the margins and around the bottom, too.. The book was donated to the Santa Barbara Gen. Library where I research from time to time. The notes in the margins are many and not all plainly written. However, if the note-writer had knowledge that a LISTED PALMER from CT. either married or migrated out of CT., a line is drawn into the margin and a note added. I counted at LEAST 6 PALMER men as having migrated into Duchess County,NY ; many to Saratoga,NY area; quite a few 'western NY'--usually Erie CO. or stated Buffalo; a number to other western states. I do not have Gedcom capability, nor FAX. If you are interested and send your street address and $2.50 to me in advance to C.J.SHeldon 106 Madonna Lane Newbury Park, CA. 91320-3927...........I will mail them to you. Charlotte J. Charlotte I have seen the name, Hoag, in my research in the Quaker records. It is quite common there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie Hope" <leslie@lahope.com> To: <nydutche@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 21, 2008 6:56 PM Subject: Re: [NYDUTCHE] About PALMERS in Duchess Co.,NY > Charlotte, > > I'm looking for a woman named Elizabeth Palmer or Elizabeth Douglas who > married Jacob Hoag in Macedon, Wayne Co, NY. on Dec 1. 1785. Do you mind if I take advantage of the $2.50 deal. Let me know. I also have family that were in both Greenwich and Dutchess Co. I am trying to get more specific info on a Robert Palmer, son of Micah Palmer. Micah was born in 1730 in Greenwich and married in Nine Corners around 1755. Thanks.
