Loreen, "Since there is discussion of Traver on this list, I have a Traver question I hope someone can answer. I would like to find the death dates and burial places for my gggrandparents, Harvey Traver and Catherine Nickle Traver. They were married on 1 Dec 1822 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck. They are in Poughkeepsie census records by 1850. It looks like after 1850 they stayed in Poughkeepsie. At least 2 of their children are buried in Poughkeepsie Rural." Have you checked with Poughkeepsie Rural, a lot of smaller cemeterie's burials were removed to PRC. If you write to them and include a check for $20 they will do a search for , be sure to ask for a copy of any plot cards they have, these will lead to a great many more people including babies that died between the census years. Of course your first check should be Poucher's list on the the Dutchess website or Us Genweb site for NY state. That wouldn't cost anything. Thanks, Carol L. Heap FL
I have not talked to them about Catherine and Harvey, although I have talked to them about others. Actually I pointed them to one burial that wasn't marked but was in their books. They found it after I gave them a d.c. and obit. This is good information. I will send them a request. Do you think if I give them a couple other Traver surnames I have, that they will do them all for that search fee? I don't know Poucher's list so I will look there too. Thank you kindly.
