Can you help? Searching for a John Rodgers born about 1765 to 1775 in I believe N./S. Carolina. Married to "His Wife ??" b. abt 1775 in Rockingham, N. Carolina. John and "his Wife" had about 10 to 12 children. One child is my gg grandfather. Story goes He & wife, two or three brothers, wives and families left The Carolina's for Texas. At about Arkansas, by a river, they had camped for the night. They got into a discussion regarding if they would tell about being Indian, and if not, to say the were mexican. They began to argue and all decided to go their separate ways come morning. Come morning, They all headed different directions. My gggrandfather, Houston (Hughey) Rodgers b. 10/30/1822 in poss. Tenn. d. 7/19/1905 Irene, Hill County, Texas, married to Rebecca (Becky) Amos b. ? d. ? in Irene, Hill Co., TX. Houston and Becky had only 1 child,! a son, my ggrandfather, John F. (Jack) Rodgers, b. 6/8/1847-48 Tenn. d. 1879 in Burn City, Cooke Co., TX (near Gainsville) married Amanda Catherine Rowden b. 9/20/1848 Tenn. d3/3/1925 in Vernon, TX. Jack and Amanda had 6 children. One being my grandfather S.H. (Samuel Houston) Bud Rodgers b. 9/29/1872 in McClellan Co., TX d. 3/22/1957 Coalgate, OK. married to Dawn (Donnie) P. Patton b. 12/12/1889 in Jim Town, Perkins, IT, now Love Co., OK d. 11/10/1978 Coalgate, OK.
