    3. My ancestors resided in Beekman Precinct, Dutchess Co., NY from ca 1758 through 1762--MA land records of the sales of their properties in MA was the source. The following people and/or families are related and the people in question residing in Beekman Precinct at the time of the land transactions Joseph Sewell b. 1737/8 Mendon Worcester Co., MA Anna Sewell b. 1739/40 Mendon Worcester Co., MA m. William Soule Margaret Sewell Sherman, Husband Elkanah Sherman Rebekah Sewell Lewis, Husband Lemuel (often transcribed as Samuel) Lewis Joseph & Anna both are found also on a merchant list there, I believe (without checking my notes) it was Joseph Mabbit's list. I have been looking for the marriages of both Joseph Sewell to wife unknown and Anna Sewell to William Soule. The Soules resided later for many years prior to the confiscation of their land during the revolutionary war in what is now known as Spencertown, Columbia Co., NY; however they did not marry there. Both Joseph Sewell and family and the William Soules ended up in what is now known as Alburgh, Grand Isle Co., VT by 1792 when land records began in the area inclusive of bordering Lower Canada. I have searched diligently for some 30 years for the marriage dates and place of marriages for both Joseph and Anna. Both were single at the time of their land sales--Joseph's in 1759 and Anna's in 1762 while in Beekman. I believe both married in Dutchess Co., NY but have found nothing to corroborate my suspicions. Can you help? Thank You, Susan Hedeen (I live in Virginia)
