    3. Thank you Rod, And, thereby is my confusion. All of those towns make up the Oblong....and all I know about Joseph Sherwood was that he lived in one of those towns. If I could hazard a guess, it would probably be Dutchess County that has any records. According to another person who responded to my e-mail, he was in the Ulster 4th Regiment and he received Land Bounty Rights. So, I have some research to do in Dutchess Co.     3. Marcia, Do you know if he went by another name? I have access to some online Rev War records (originals). Doing a search, I have found 50 Sherwood's indexed, but no Joseph. Also, would you have his wife's name? If she is a widow, she may be listed for his pension.
