During my many years of research I have found using these Microfilms a valued tool in finding information in lieu of travel. For Dutchess County the following are available for a low fee (far less than travel expenses). New York, Dutchess - Vital records Titles Deaths notices, Dutchess & Columbia County, New York, 1919-1936, from Red Hook and Rhinebeck newspapers Herrick, Margaret E Marriage notices from Dutchess County, New York, newspapers, 1826-1851 Kelly, Arthur C. Here is the information. For more information regarding DCHS or Dutchess County history, please contact: DUTCHESS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY c/o Steven Mann, President P.O. BOX 88 POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12602 TEL. 845-471-1630 FAX 845-471-8777 Email: dchistorical@verizon.net I strongly suggest writing a Snail Mail letter or to FAX a letter to the Society rather than using Email. I have had more sucess in receiving a reply by using one of thes methods. I also find that since the work is being done by Volunteers on their own time that "Patience is a Virtue" in receiving good genealogical information. If I don't receive a reply within 3 months than I send a 2nd reply. Good Luck and I hope you find the information you are seeking. Cheers Pat R Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
