Yes, he is one and the same! I know he had two brothers, Emmanuel and Nicholas, according to one of his daughters biographies. But the trail stops there. I know his family was in the same county as Brigham Young's family in New York, but doubt they were related. Please write back if you have any info. I have a lot of his info and am descended from his son John Wm Young/Youngs. All the stuff I have is on my tree on ancestry under Anne Smittle.
