He allegedly was born in Prussia. Parents were Herman and Caroline Baker. Census records give conflicting info on Morris's place of birth. The Poughkeepsie 1900 census says he was born in Prussia. Then 1910, his daughter gives his birthplace as Germany, and her mom Mary's birthplace as Rhode Island. Then in 1900 Mary is born in Germany and Morris is born England??? What is going on? Can't find them in any immigration records I have seen. Morris first surfaced in NYC census in 1850 with his parents Herman and Caroline Morris, he was allegedly 8 yrs old.
