Hi Tim, I would try Duchess co own web site, If you are a member it should be there. I did not go look, just thinking that I have found things on that site that I missed in other places. Or: Give them a call and ask which site to go to. just trying to help. Nancy
When I started to reply to your question, I realized this event maybe happened in Ulster Co. so I maybe need to look there instead. In this family all roads seem to lead back to Dutchess Co. eventually so I am looking there. I am grasping at straws. I am open to any suggestions you might have. Following is what I know: I want to find Lillian Arnold's father. The 1860 census lists Evelyn Saulpaugh, age 12, b. NY, living in Kingston NY with her parents Elias M. and Sarah Saulpaugh. In the 1870 census Evelyn is living in Rondout Village, Ulster Co. with her parents. She is then Evelyn Arnold and has two Arnold children with her - Lillian, age 8 and Arthur age 1. Subsequent census records give a Jan 1866 birth date for Lillian and Nov 1868 for Arthur. Since no Arnold father is there in 1870 and the baby is a year old, it looks like he died between 1868 and 1870. In 1880, Evelyn and children were in Poughkeepsie. So far I have found no evidence of this man other than Evelyn's surname and that of her children.
