He served as both an ensign and Lt in the Revolutionary war under Capt. Sackett in Thomas Thomas' Regiment. His named is spelled both as Mosier and Mosher in different pension documents - both have the same number, so it is definitely the same person. One of the more memorable skirmishes was at Bedford,Westchester Co., NY against the forces of Colonel James Holmes. I do not know who William Mosier married, but he had the following children: Coles, Amos, Miles, Henry, Charlotte (Isaac) Wood, Phebe (Platt) Garrison - my gggrandmother, - Elizabeth (william Henry) Tandy, Phebe married Platt Garrison, they had at least one child: William H. Garrison, b 4/13/1817. William H. Garrison married Hester Jane Scofield b. 8/4/1820, d. 8/12/1858 (she seems to have disappeared, I have no records other than the date of her death - I cannot find her parents, any siblings, etc.). William and Hester had 3 daughters: Mary, Francis b. 1/1/1852 and Lavina. Francis Married William Clarke. They had a daughter (and several other children) Emily. Emily married Gustave Wassweiler. They had a daughter, Gertrude. Gertrude married Thomas C. Tully. Anyone with any information (even suspected) on this line is encouraged to answer! I suspect that all of these families were in the Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess County area. THANK YOU!!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
