The first one was Awansous, a Wappinger man. He was the father of John Van Gilder (1698-1758), who married Anna Maria Karner (Mary Karner) (1700-after 1782), a German Palatine woman. Their banns of marriage were posted in Kingston in 1719. They lived on the west bank of the Green River, east of South Egremont, in Berkshire County, Mass. Awansous was the grandfather of the last Wappinger chief Daniel Nimham and ".was possessed of a certain Tract of Land lying on the East side of Hudson's River, beginning at the mouth of the Fish kills called in the Indian language Nataowawmungh thence running down Hudsons River southerly to Anthony's Nose called in the same language Wacoghquanuk, and Eastward into the woods as far as the Oblong croping the Peeks kill. Awansous' son Sancoolakheekhing Died without any Children and on his Death the Nation confirmed the whole of the Lands to John Van Gilder & he [John Van Gilder in the year of the Defeat at Ticonderoga] hath since given the whole of these Lands to [Daniel Nimham]" (John Tabor Kempe Papers, Court Case Records: Box 10, folder 9, New York Historical Society, New York City, transcribed by J. Michael Smith, August 2006). Robert Boyes and wife Lisabeth. I think it possible that Lisabeth was related to Samuel Kuhn and Elizabeth Loescher. Robert and Lisabeth's daughter Marytje was baptized at the home of Herman Kuhn in Rhinebeck. Studying church records, names and geography, it seems possible that Robert was from a Dutch family named Buys. Sarah Livingston (1810-1864). She was born in Ancram, NY and was the wife of George Winchell. They eventually settled in the Town of Great Barrington in Berkshire County, Mass. I think it's possible that she is descended from James Livingston and Anna Catherina Kuhn. I know the Livingstons scattered so I add their names here just in case. Sarah was the granddaughter of Robert Boyes and Lisabeth. The church records indicate that the above families probably attended the same church at one time or another. I was told that church records were missing for the early 1700s I think for the Reformed Church in Kingston. That could explain the gaps of missing information I have for each family. My family of Winchells lived in Berkshire County, Mass., and were there by 1721. I'm descended from Hezekiah Winchell Sr. who married Catherine Van Gilder, daughter of John Van Gilder and Mary Karner. The Winchells of Millerton in Dutchess County moved directly west from the Connecticut River Valley later on to Dutchess County. Noah Ashley (1747-1815) and Rebecca Reynolds (1754-1822) Nehemiah Reynolds (1709-1754) and Mary Palmer (has it been figured out who her parents were?) I know the Ashley and Reynolds families were Quaker. The Ashleys come from the eastern shore of Massachusetts. It's possible Mary's family goes back to William Palmer at Plimoth Plantation.
