    2. Ginny B.
    3. Quite some time I back before I resigned as Co-President and Trustee of the Fort Homestead Association due to personal reasons, I wrote a letter on behalf of the Fort Homestead Association in support of obtaining the Grant for this 2-day Conference - Today I received this e-mail below and invite all who are interested in attending to check out the conference information at the link provided in the information below. The fee seems reasonable and includes Friday Dinner and Saturday Lunch in addition to the program, refreshments and optional tours. . . . . . . .Reserve by Oct. 15 and save. . . . . .I hold my efforts as a founding Trustee and Co-President of the Fort Homestead Assoc. near & dear and continue to personally support historic preservation efforts in the Town of Poughkeepsie, as well as, throughout Dutchess County and beyond - it is with this in mind that I forward the following along . . . . . . . . . . . .Ginny Buechele, Poughkeepsie --------------------------------------------------- Greetings from the New Paltz Town and Village Historic Preservation Commissions. [rec'd September 14, 2007] Please refer to the following link for our brochure and registration to the subject conference to be held in New Paltz on November 9th and 10th. Your letters of support and enthusiasm for this conference were greatly appreciated and helped us to secure the SHPO Grant that allowed us to create this event. We invite you and your colleagues to attend and learn with us how some very new technologies can help us preserve and protect some very old things! http://www.townofnewpaltz.org/hpda/ Sincerely, John Orfitelli, Chair, Town of New Paltz Historic Preservation Commission Thomas Olsen, Chair, Village of New Paltz Historic Preservation Commission --------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fort Homestead Association" <forthomestead@optonline.net> To: <jaorfi3@yahoo.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 11, 2006 10:50 PM Subject: Support for SHPO Grant Application from New Paltz Dear Mr. Orfitelli, The Fort Homestead Association Officers and Board of Trustees would like to take this opportunity to lend our support for a conference designed to bring historic preservation groups within our region together to discuss our shared need to do public education and our common needs including but not limited to how to use websites creatively, effectively, and efficiently for public education and awareness. The conference you are contemplating would be very worthwhile and informative and something many organizations in this SHPO region, including the Fort Homestead Association would benefit from. Having an A+ Professional Website is an important part of public education regarding historical preservation. The opportunity to attend the conference you are contemplating would provide much needed insight for many organizations in the Hudson River Valley striving toward a common goal of public awareness in regard to our historic preservation efforts in the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area. As a result of all the new development in the area and the influx of many new families from without the area - public education about our Hudson River Valley history is more important than ever. Families with young children can help them develop their roots and thereby their involvement in the community and historic preservation, when they have the ability to teach their children history at a local level. However in order to do this the parents and the children themselves have to be aware of what is available toward this end. Thank You Again for contacting us. All of us with the Fort Homestead Association appreciate your efforts in regard to the conference and look forward to hearing more as your plans proceed as well as our future attendance at the conference. Sincerely, Virginia A. Yes, I know who he is. He was a brother to my 4th G-GF Richard, and I have them traced back to CT. Richard came to Canada in 1797 and I have all of his children by name, but no actual birth records. Archibald remained in NY. Arch died in the 1830's, so there is no census records for his wife or children, by name. I have nothing to go on for their names. I am suspecting that some Farr's in Seneca Co NY are his descendants, but I have no way to prove or disprove it. I have exhausted all my resources that I am aware of to solve this. Please! It would be so much more helpful to listmembers if a message of this type, which refers to specific people, times and places, would NOT carry a general title that seems to indicate discussion of record sources.
