I am about 99% sure I have the right match, though, since no other family fits with what I have, and this one is a dead on match. ANOTHER GREAT PROGRAM FROM GENEALOGY SOCIETY OF ROCKLAND COUNTY NOTE NEW DATE: OCTOBER 30, 2007 NEW CITY LIBRARY Topic: The Silent Woman: Bringing a Name to Life. Too often, our female ancestors end up being just a name on a pedigree chart or as the neglected half of a family history. This presentation, based on Sharons book, A Genealogist's Guide to Finding Your Female Ancestors, will feature sources created by and about women and will instruct researchers on how to breathe life into their female ancestors by using womens social histories in conjunction with primary genealogical sources. Speaker: Sharon DeBartolo Carmack , CG, is a partner in the Salt Lake City-based research firm Warren, Carmack & Associates. She specializes in writing, mentoring, and editing narrative family histories, as well as Irish/Irish-American family history research. Sharon is the author of sixteen books, including Discovering Your Female Ancestors, and You Can Write Your Family History, and hundreds of articles that have appeared in nearly every major genealogical journal and publication. She has a B.A. in English from Regis University and a Diploma in Irish Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway. This is possibly the only chance you will have to hear this nationally recognized writer and speaker for free! Bonus Presentation: Primetimes 20/20 Dateline: Sharon Carmack Interviews the Worlds Oldest Living Genealogist, Ole Smirnoff Bernatelli . (Joint presentation by Sharon DeBartolo Carmack and Jim Warren.) Ole's been around since 1897. But it wasn't until his column, Bringing Up the Rear, appeared in the NGS NewsMagazine in 2004 that Ole shot to fame. Whiting Parks [b abt 1735 in Canterbury, Windham, CT d 1800] son of Jonathan Parks and Mary Whiting, married about 1763 to Polly Sutherland (probably Mary) born 1750 died 21 Feb 1829 and buried in Knickerbocker Cem., Pine Plains, Dutchess Co. NY I have his will and the names of their children including some spouses and other descendants including daughter Mary 'Polly"' who married Nicholas Pulver through whom I descend. Does anyone have any knowledge of the parents and/or siblings of Polly Sutherland? I do not know if she was also born in CT nor of where they married. I have not found a grave record for Whiting Parks, but presume he may also be buried in Knickerbocker. If Polly left a will I have not discovered it either. The Park/Parks Family has had a great deal of research done over the generations, but I have not seen anything that indicates the identity of his wife's parents. Thank you, Agnes Van Wagner Cloninger

The guy I'm looking for is William Graham who was the father of James S, Graham. James was born at Athol, Prince Edward County on 25 May 1824. I can't find any record of his father being there. Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a long while, and have a new email address, so I will now state what research I am still working on. My ancestor was Jacob Brower b. May 8, 1772. He is believed to be the son of Nicholas Brouwer/Brower/Brewer b. 1714 NJ, who lived at Wappingers Falls, Dutchess Co NY from at least 1744 thru 1778, when he died. Nicholas ran a Flour Mill on Wappingers Creek, the area of Fishkill is associated with him. The home that his father built and left to him still stands today there, it is refered to as the Brewer-Mesier Home. After the death of Nicholas Brower/Brewer his wife, Sarah Drake, re-married to Stephen Callow, and they lived in Clinton, Dutchess Co NY. My ancestor Jacob Brower was raised by his step-father and mother, as he was only 6 yrs old when his father died. Sarah Drake was born about 1744, her parents are said to be John Drake and Sarah Trotter. I have never found anyone researching John Drake and Sarah Trotter. I would like to know and share more about them. I found alot of Drake to Trotter marriages in New Jersey. I am wondering if Sarah Drake was raised in Dutchess Co NY? She was married in Poughkeepsie DRC. Normally the wedding is at the brides home church, so this may indicate she was from a Drake family in Poughkeepsie. I would love to know more about her particular Drake family. My ancestor Jacob Brower had 2 older half brothers, and he had 2 older full brothers. His closest brothers were Jeremiah Brower and William Brower. I have never found Jeremiah Brower later in Life, but there is a man named such who lived in Westchester Co NY who seems to correspond with the right time frame. Jacob Brower b. 1772 married Abigail Manning b. 1772. I presume she is of the same Manning families who lived at Clinton, Dutchess Co NY. This would mean that Jacob and Abigail were close neighbors and were raised in the same community. I believe that by 1800 Jacob Brower and his wife were living in Manhattan (NYC). I have not found their death records, or where they died, but I have found out alot about their children. Best regards, Lilly Martin
