Who descended from Gerrit Aertsen Van Wagenen and Clara Everetse Pells. Neeltje Kip [1759-1830] probably the dau of John Baptist Kip and Catharina Heermans. I do not have much about this particular line but will share what I have. I too am a VW and descend from Jacob Aertsen VW and Sarah Pells. As a matter of fact, it hasn't. It was originally a town settled by the Dutch and named New Harlem for the European City and with its own records and history. Many towns (Harlem, Brooklyn, Flatbush, Bushwick, etc.) were gradually absorbed as NYC grew. My point was that if an ancestor lived in Harlem in the 17th century, it was an independent municipality with its own records and history (See Riker's History of Harlem, available on Google Books) . Geographically, of course, it is located today in what is now the Borough of Manhattan. Hello Bill, Delilah is a name which is almost never used by the Brouwer family line, who after 1800 mainly was spelling it as BROWER, but there were a number of lines that used the BREWER spelling. I am going to have to take some time to throughly check my files and see if I can find a Delilah, but it does not ring a bell for me. However, there is another BREWER family line, which is NOT related to mine, a man named Solomon BREWER, who is in the Sleepy Hollow area, and I do have some of his genealogy in my files. Sleepy Hollow is near Tarrytown and is located in Westchester Co NY .
