I was just trying to answer Loreen's question. Best I know I have no connection with Dutchess county. I'm not even sure any of my relatives tromped through that region unless the ones that came from Rhode Island did. The Massachusetts folks came in through Albany. Still liking a puzzle I'll toss in comments that I hope are helpful from time to time. Tim

    2. Rod Dav4is
    3. Dear Ms Heap, I have a pretty large Morgan page with nearly 1300 entries in five subfamilies. One such is the descendants of George Morgan, in which you will find our Elijah, here <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/%7Edav4is/ODTs/MORGAN.shtml#MORG2326>. That subfamily is one of my ancestral lines, as Elsie Iona Morgan [1876-1909] was my great grandmother, I only have sketchy information about his family, cobbled together from various web sources -- including the will that you so helpfully posted online. If you could provide a list of the children and their vitals, that would be most helpful! ;o) -R. cheap@simon.com wrote: > Any family out there of Eiljah Morgan, son of Caleb Morgan of Westchester > County NY. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Rodd1985 Surnames: Hall Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.dutchess/2979.3023.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Nickie, I work at Virginia Tech and my e-mail is rodd.hall@vt.edu. Please feel free to e-mail me and we can exchange some information. I have compiled significant information on the Halls, but still have no definitive proof of who Asa and Jesse's father was. My theory takes us back to a John Hall who came to Boston in the early 1630s. That theory is widely held in the view of genealogists of Virginia. Some from other areas believe that theory could not possibly be true because a person named Benajah Hall was murdered in the late 1700s without children. 3. Hi Tim, Yes go to that site, also go to the library and get the 4th or 5th genealogist address book. It is a wealth of information and you may find an extra lead or two in it. I just bought my own copy of the 5th edition on Amazon. It is a ton of information to anyone. Nancy

    3. When I started to reply to your question, I realized this event maybe happened in Ulster Co. so I maybe need to look there instead. In this family all roads seem to lead back to Dutchess Co. eventually so I am looking there. I am grasping at straws. I am open to any suggestions you might have. Following is what I know: I want to find Lillian Arnold's father. The 1860 census lists Evelyn Saulpaugh, age 12, b. NY, living in Kingston NY with her parents Elias M. and Sarah Saulpaugh. In the 1870 census Evelyn is living in Rondout Village, Ulster Co. with her parents. She is then Evelyn Arnold and has two Arnold children with her - Lillian, age 8 and Arthur age 1. Subsequent census records give a Jan 1866 birth date for Lillian and Nov 1868 for Arthur. Since no Arnold father is there in 1870 and the baby is a year old, it looks like he died between 1868 and 1870. In 1880, Evelyn and children were in Poughkeepsie. So far I have found no evidence of this man other than Evelyn's surname and that of her children.
