    3. Abraham CARLIER arrived with his wife and many children in 1852. The settled in Williamson, Wayne Co, although their descendants can now be found all over Wayne Co, particularly in Williamson and Sodus. The name CARLIER changed to COLLIER with Abram's son Jacob. The BRASSERs arrived in Jan 1844 at the port of NY and traveled by packet boat up the Hudson and over the Erie Canal until they reached Rochester in Monroe Co. The BRASSERs settled all over Monroe Co, and eventually some moved eastward into Wayne Co. The CLICQUENNOIs arrived in 1845. 3Ggrands: Abraham CARLIER m.     3. Dear Cathy, I see from your initial posting that you are the Listowner of this new NYDUTCH list. Could you give us an idea what you had in mind when you set it up, please? Since 1996 individuals who descend from Dutch immigrants during the 17th century (specifically 1624-1664 when the Dutch had a colony called New Netherland that later became New York and New Jersey) have been chatting away on the rootsweb-sponsored Dutch-Colonies list. Is the purpose of this list to discuss families who came from the Netherlands at any time between 1624 and 2002? Any direction you'd like to give us so this discussion won't duplicate what's going on over at the Dutch-Colonies list? Thanks! Dorothy
