My Surname interests are : Van Etten (ca 1800, Ulster Co NY) and Besomer...same area...this may be a German name. I think listowner (?Cathy) has said her primary interest for list is direction of Dutch arriving in NY in 1800's or later. I think my Benjamin Van Etten, who md Cathy Besomer around 1800, was descended from the " original " (?Jacob?) Jansen von Etten ..of the 1600's, but I can't get back beyond my Benjamin of 1800, so thought I'd post for anyone else who may have knowledge of same. Jeannette
