I don't have a lot on this family but I do know that Jeremiah, Leah's father, was the town clerk in Bayside, NY in 1789. He was born about 1737 and married Abigail Vanderbilt in 1755. My Gr Gr Grandfather was John Stoothoff born in 1783. the only John I have found born about that time was to Peter Stoothoff and Leah Vanderbilt. So far, I have been unable to prove that they are one and the same. Oral family history say we have Vanderbilts in the family. this is the only connection I have ever found. My goal is to prove/disprove the connection. ( I like to have my facts straight.) Where is Lyons, NY? I was originally from Albany county. My Stoothoff were from Rockland County, NY and from Passaic county, NJ. ----- Original Message ----- From: Daryl VerStreate jr.
