My search involves George Mackey and Ann Eliza Banta. (My Gr Gr grand parents). The Banta genealogy is contained in a published work which I have. It shows the marriage of Ann Eliza Banta (daughter of Isaac and Amy (Weeks), on May 9, 1843. The place of the marriage is unknown. I am searching for this. These Bantas lived in Saratoga County (Jonesville, Burnt Hills and Ballston Spa). In some generations they were Reformed Dutch. I have traced the descending George Mackey and Eliza line to Marquette, WI. After George's death on Jan 12, 1873, Ann Eliza appears in MO, back in WI and then around 1900 settles in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA. Theire first son, Adelbert George Mackey was born on Aug 6, 1852 at East Line, Saratoga Co., NY. His brother, Frank Percy Mackey died in San Francisco on Jan 19, 1941. His DC states that his father (George) was born along the Mohawk River, in NY. (A WI census shows him a born in PA, but several later ones show NY). So, this is what brings me to CNYGS and your county packets. I thought that by searching these packets for the counties that border the Mohawk River, that I might find a Mackey family. I do not know the name of George's Parents, and presume that these Mackeys immigrated from Ireland or Scotland. My searches in Saratoga County have not been helpful. If you have any suggestions as to finding the place of marriage of George and Ann Eliza, and the Mackey line along the Mohawk River, I would be most appreciative. Thanks, Ron Yielding Palm Desert, CA
