    3. Dear List, I'm new to this list, and new to researching the Swift family in Dutchess Co. This is my brother in law's family, and I'm looking for some expert advice about tracing someone in Dutchess Co., and direction. Finding baptism and death.records would be good. It appears there were quite a few Swifts in the county, but I have not been able to connect Lott Swift born c1755 to Swifts in Dutchess. There may have been two Lott Swifts about the same age. One may have been born Amenia, Dutchess Co., but one ws born in Sandwich Barnstable Co.. Mass. It appears they were both in Amenia, Dutchess. Other researchers have info on both combined and mixed up in Rootsweb, Ancestry, etc. One died 10 August 1840, and if I could locate a will or probate for him, might help to learn if he is ours. Ours was married to Elizabeth BARLOW, and had Moses Barlow Swift born 19 Oct 1783, among 8 other children. Elizabeth's father's will is on the web, and it mentions Lot Swift as her husband. Her father was MOSES BARLOW. A Lott SWIFT fought in the revolution, but I've been unable to obtain to see his application for pension. I don't think that would give parents names, but it could clarify the dob of that Lott, spouse and children. One may have been Quaker, however, the family knows nothing about that. I have checked Quaker files on line without success. We think his father may have been Seth, because he named his first son Seth, born c1781 in Amenia. . My brother in law descends from MOSES BARLOW Barlow SWIFT who migrated to Wis., where he died in Green Lake Co., in 1867. Any SWIFT help, and/or direction will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time, Rosie
