    1. [NYDUTCH] George Adelbert Mackey
    2. REY
    3. My search involves George Mackey and Ann Eliza Banta. (My Gr Gr grand parents). The Banta genealogy is contained in a published work which I have. It shows the marriage of Ann Eliza Banta (daughter of Isaac and Amy (Weeks), on May 9, 1843. The place of the marriage is unknown. I am searching for this. These Bantas lived in Saratoga County (Jonesville, Burnt Hills and Ballston Spa). In some generations they were Reformed Dutch. I have traced the descending George Mackey and Eliza line to Marquette, WI. After George's death on Jan 12, 1873, Ann Eliza appears in MO, back in WI and then around 1900 settles in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA. Theire first son, Adelbert George Mackey was born on Aug 6, 1852 at East Line, Saratoga Co., NY. His brother, Frank Percy Mackey died in San Francisco on Jan 19, 1941. His DC states that his father (George) was born along the Mohawk River, in NY. (A WI census shows him a born in PA, but several later ones show NY). So, this is what brings me to CNYGS and your county packets. I thought that by searching these packets for the counties that border the Mohawk River, that I might find a Mackey family. I do not know the name of George's Parents, and presume that these Mackeys immigrated from Ireland or Scotland. My searches in Saratoga County have not been helpful. If you have any suggestions as to finding the place of marriage of George and Ann Eliza, and the Mackey line along the Mohawk River, I would be most appreciative. Thanks, Ron Yielding Palm Desert, CA

    3. Hello List members; I am a new member, and just wanted to let you know my maternal ancestors were the Ploegs, and the families with whom they intermarried. Several of them came to Nieuw Amsterdam in the 17th Century and settled in the Ulster area. Some began to spell the name Plough, or Plew, or Ploughe. Thank you, Carl

    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Byron Fiedler To: NY-DUTCH-L-requests Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2003 9:13 PM Am seeking information on a William Hagerman. He and family were from the Coeyman Patent area. Apparently moved to Elizabethtown, Ont area as he showed up in the 1805 census. Herein lies a mystery. He is listed in the household of my ggg/grandparents, Rev. William A. and Catherine (DeGroat) Hallock. He may be a child by a previous marriage of Catherine to a Hagerman. Catherine's parents were Staats DeGroat (DeGroot, DeGrote) also of the Ulster area. They too moved to Elizabethtown, ONT. Would appreciate any information or direction in solving this mystery. Why would William Hagerman show up in the Hallock household? What is the possible connection? Thank you. Bev - MI

    3. I assume you've seen http://cybrary.uwinnipeg.ca/people/dobson/genealogy/ff/hegeman-hendrick.cfm . It shows a (probably) John Hegeman/Hagerman in Elizabethtown; says he had nine children, but names only John, Jane, and Tunis. I believe this John was a Loyalist. If you should run into a Margaret Hagerman who married John Whitley and had a daughter Phoebe, please let me know. Margaret's parents were John Hagerman Sr. and Phoebe Ferguson. This John Sr. was my fifth great grandfather. Best regards, Frank Young > Am seeking information on a William Hagerman. He and family were from the Coeyman Patent area. 3. Am researching my ggg/grandmother, Catherine DeGroat (DeGroot, DeGrote). She was born around 1770 in either Albany or Westchester County NY. She married Rev. William A. Hallock in 1794, it is believed in Albany County, Cortlandt or Coeyman Patent. In 1800 the migrated to Elizabethtown, ONT. Rev. Hallock was one of the first minister of the Wall Street UM Church. Catherine's parents were Staats and Mirium. William's parents are unknown due to him becoming orphaned at age 10. Their first born in listed as Catherine in 1803. However, on the 1805 census of Elizabethtown, there are three other children listed; Staats, James and Rebecca. These children were never listed prior to this census. The Hallock Family shows up in many of the Ontario census. William passed away in 1836 and after that no records are shown of Catherine. Would like to know if Staats is her father, where did these three children come from all of a sudden, and date of her passing. However, I will ! be happy with any information I can garner on any of the above. Thank you Bev - MI

All of the above information was taken from our VanVliet Family Bible. 3. Hello-I'm new to this list. I'm looking for information about John Houghtaling, who was born Feb. 1, 1814, probably in Delaware County. He had a brother named Nathaniel, who was born in 1808, in either Broome on Greene County. These brothers married sisters-Marilla and Lucinda Hinson. I believe that Nathaniel also married a third Hinson sister. Both brothers moved to Candor Twp., Tioga County about 1850. In 1858 they both moved to Tuscola County, Michigan. Is anyone researching this family? Pam Schaberg

    1. Re: [NYDUTCH] Dutch Families
    2. Hi new cuz Marge- I have basically the same thing with a few differences, which are: You have Humphrey's parents as Humphrey & Anne COLLINSON, I have Rachel HOLMES. I believe he was married to both at different times. I'm unsure of which woman is mother of children. Here's my differences concerning children: I have seen your Johanna (Anna) and my Annetje all listed as her name. If I'm not mistaken, Annetje is a Dutch version for "Hannah". In which case all names make sense depending on where she was at the time. I also have her birth as 27 Aug, 1667 as opposed to your 9 Oct. I have her death listed same date, but in Hanover, Hunterdon, NJ. I have death date of 3 Oct 1727 for Nathaniel For Elizabeth, I believe the original spelling (pronunciation) for husband David was de DUYTSCHER, which of course was Americanized to DUTCHER. Death date of 3 Oct 1727 for Elizabeth. I have William's death listed as 3 Oct 1727. I wonder if they really all died the same day & why/how? I have your Oomphrey as Humphrey III, you have him baptized 10 yrs before he was born. I have their marriage date as 3 Jul 1731 Acquackanonk, Passaic, NJ Sarah I have born 28 Feb 1702/03 m. Jacob Cole 31 Oct 1728 Your Johannis (Jan) I have simply as John, again Dutch spelling/pronunciation. Death date 1791 Kingston. Maria b1709 I have only the first Rachel listed, with her married to Nicholas...hmmmmm Helena b1711 Kingston (???) m. Jacob MILLER (???) Please email me off-list so we can get our source info and all straightened out, etc. Take care...cuzz Teri
