    2. Leonard Cook's son Isaac Cook married Mary Fisher who was a sister to my great grandfather's line. The connection is remote, but then that's what I do. I collect them all. My maiden name was Fisher. I am related to most of the Dutch Fishers in Wayne Co., NY.

    1. Re: [NYDUTCH] Cook family of Wayne Co, NY
    2. Yes, Leonard Cook married Susanna DeDie Fremouw on 3 Nov 1897. They lived in Newark on Maple Street. (I don't know about now, but a few years ago the house was still standing. I have a picture... someplace...) My mother and Susanna's other grandkids always called him Mr. Cook but never really associated him as their step-grandfather. Below is a copy of Obit notice: "Death notice: of MRS. LEONARD COOK Mrs. Leonard Cook, aged 67 years, died at the Park Avenue Hospital in Rochester Sunday evening, after an illness of about a year. Deceased was born September 12, 1852, in Holland and came to this country in 1873. She was married to Cornelius Fremouw who died in 1885, leaving her with nine children. In 1897, she was married to Lenard Cook, who survives, together with the following children: Mrs. William Kerwin of Holley, N.Y.; Mrs. William Wilk, Mrs. George Fuller, and C. Fremouw of Rochester, Mrs.V. C. Washburn and Mrs. Cornelia Averill of Palmyra; and A.J. and John Fremouw of Newark; also a sister, Mrs. Moran, of Williamson. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of Abram Fremouw, Madison Ave. Rev. Benjamin DeYoung officiating. Burial was made in Willow Avenue Cemetery." Linda

    1. [NYDUTCH] Cook of Newark
    2. Hi List, Is anyone research Cooks in Wayne County, NY? In particular, I'm looking for family of Leonard Cook. He was born 22 Sep 1844 in the Netherlands, emigrated to Wayne County in 1880s or 90s. He died Feb 1932 in Newark. He had at least one daughter. His second wife, Suzanna DeDie Fremouw, was my gr-grandmother. They were married in 1897 and lived on Maple St in Newark. But I know little else about him. Thanks, Linda Burkell

    1. [NYDUTCH] Dutch Links on My Website
    2. Cliff Lamere
    3. Albany & Eastern New York Genealogy is the name of my website. It was begun in August 2000 as a free site to help people in their genealogical research. Today, I have over 1000 links, over 400 of which will take you to online records for the counties of Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Greene, Schenectady, Schoharie and Montgomery. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ About 600 links are to webpages that can be very useful in your research. Those include such things as a birthdate calulator (for when you have the age of a person and their date of death), genealogical forms, blank census forms, gazetteers, maps, photos, my Guide to Albany Area Genealogical Resources (39 local places to do research), lists of historical societies, dictionaries, foreign language translators, lists of cemeteries, lists of churches, a section on local and New Netherland history, etc. The website currently contains over 100 links to Dutch records and information. Few links to records are from outside the area covered by my website unless I thought they were special or might include information about people from the local geographic area. The history section covers a broader area. On my site, the links are separated by subject, then by county. I have omitted the county names in the following list.
