It has been some time since I posted anything concerning my g-g-g-grandfather Wilhelm/William ROOS/ROSE. He was born in 1738 in Hesse Cassel, Germany and married Elizabeth SCHOOLCRAFT in 1760 in Schoharie NY. Quite a gap, I know. The Bible says he died in 1819 in Colchester NY. In the book "Centennial History of Delaware Co. NY" it states that William ROSE lived on the west side of the river, below Downsville, near Rock Eddy. It also states that he ran a tub mill above Downsville. I have not been able to find an immigration or naturalization record for him. I do have the names & dates of births of his children. I would like to find an obituary and where he is buried - I realize that may be wishful thinking for that far back, but one can always hope. Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
