Still researching Alexander Gray who lived on lot 235 in Stamford, probably from 1811 on. Born in Scotland. How can I find out who sold the lot to him? The only record is of his sale to someone else in the 1820s. Townbrook area. Some of the family were in Marbletown by 1850. Alexander died in 1835 in Roxbury. Susan

The above-mentioned names are my brickwall; I do know a lot about the LOBDELLS (my ancestor was Daniel LOBDELL). But it is his wife, Eliza MARTINDALE that is my brickwall; I know there are many families in the Indiana area with that surname, but I just can't find anything on her family. They are listed in the 1880 US census in Delaware Co., New York; their birthdates would be ca1800-1808. Both list their parents as being born in Rhode Island. Any help would be appreciated.
