    2. Barbara, In my database I have a Joshua Pine (with absolutely no information) who married Anna Amelia Sherwood (b. 18 Dec 1848, PA) daughter of Nathan Jackson Sherwood and Sybil A. Stone. Before her marriage, Anna lived in Wayne County, PA. I was wondering if Joshua might be connected to your Pine family? Your Peter St. John is my 3C8R. According to a GEDCOM at Rootsweb.com, he died in Fairfield County, CT. 3. I'm not researching Pines, but recalled some info in the pamphlet (from the Del. Co. Historical Assn.) "The First Grandmother of Walton, N.Y. p. 7:"Joshua Pine, senior, a native of Hempstead, L.I., was a patriot of considerable means who had suffered for his patriotism by being thrown intro a British prison." p. 11 - a reference to a saber which was a gift from Marquis de Lafayette to Major John Pine p. 18 - "Four years later, at Newtown, Margaret remsen became the wife of Joshua Pine, Jr. and thereafter resided in Walton, where she and grandmother Margaret were often together. now I will read a letter, dated New York, August 15, 1817, written by Geroge Pine, to his mother, Margaret Remsen Pine:..." "In 1820, Margaret Remsen Pine's eldest child, Mary, married Robert North, Jr." The book is small and costs $5.50 + S&H. Didn't do much for my family history, but the bits and pieces may help yours. Not many references to Pines, but they were apparently intertwined with the history of the Norths and other early settlers. Exciting to be able to share the maiden name of Joshua Pine's wife and perhaps break someone elses brick wall. Enjoy.!!!
